Fish, Part II

Admit it, you were annoyed that after not posting the entire month of Feb (we had the two week flu plus some other things going on), all I had was a book review.

But there is more.

We have a new pet fish at our house. Ok, maybe it lives at our neighbor's house.

EVERY time we open the apartment door to leave the building, Martin walks to the back, rather than the front, door.

He wants to see his pet fish. He excitedly crosses the driveway to the sidewalk and goes over first to see the frog.

(It fell down 2 days ago in a wind storm, but I don't want to pick it up because I don't want to show Martin that I can control it.)

And then he toddles down the sidewalk another few feet, stopping and peering around the bush.
As soon as he sees the fish, he signs "fish."

At this point, if Justin is there, he demands to touch the fish. I get away with just standing there. Regardless, he walks back and forth between the two - and every time he sees the fish, his eyes light up and he signs it. Sometimes, he even walks to the end of the short block, almost as if to test if the fish is still there when he returns.

Yep, still there!
This can go on for 20 minutes if you will let it. We've started budgeting in 5 minutes minimum every time we leave for this VERY. IMPORTANT. ACTIVITY.

That is too funny! Why do kids get so fixated on certain things? Does your mom teach seminary? I think that she must because our church building has a seminary wing and one of the signs outside the door has her name listed as the teacher - at least the last name is the same, it doesn't actually have her first name on it!
