Ok, Aurelie is right

You will see that Arie has taken it upon herself to point out my slacking in the comments of the last post. In my defense I was traveling without internet for the 2nd week of August, went home to Columbus for only 3 days to pack everything up and head to Portland and then when I arrived in Portland, remembered that I hadn't loaded any pictures onto the computer. I suppose I could write a post without pictures, but that seems so boring - particularly when everyone probably just wants to know how big my tummy is. That said, Justin should arrive by airplane in about an hour and is bringing the camera. So you may get a picture quite soon after all.

That said, today was midwife appt day. She proclaimed me healthy. Baby is head down, not engaged but facing posterior so I am supposed to be really careful to have good posture while I am sitting in class. We were too busy talking about other things to be bothered with the GBS test - its been postponed until my next appt in 2 weeks. Likewise with an internal exam. That said, sweet midwife says that they are no longer concerned about pre-term labor (not that we ever were). That if baby wants to come tomorrow, they wouldn't care too much. Kind of a scary thought.

I'm feeling good. I've finally kind of learned what I can get away with as far as eating carbs goes. Again, sweet midwife is not concerned at all... says have a cookie if it makes me enjoy my day more as long as it isn't first thing in the morning. Regardless, I've been able through trial and error decide what is acceptable and what is not. I'm walking a lot more now that I'm in Portland. I'm lazier than I was last year of course (no walking 4 flights of stairs to my cubicle, etc), but it is nice to be out and about in the city.

As long as mom really did book her airline tickets as promised, it looks like all visitors and helpers are booked for Nov 1st through Dec 6th when school is done. Hurray! I have a few 36 hour gaps, but I'm not worried about them. I also spent the past week interviewing doulas (women who provide emotional and physical support for myself and partner during labor). I think I've chosen one - just need to call her tomorrow.

School is going ok. I'm a tiny bit ahead of the quarter but not as far as I wish I was. I'm sure it will turn out fine though.

Ok. Need to read one more article before going to get Justin from the airport.

So glad to get a post from you sweet Nicolie. When is the actual due date? Seems it is coming up right fast now. I thought you had until around Thanksgiving. So happy you are feeling well and the baby is doing well. I'll be waiting for the pictures. Love you so much. Grandma

Nicole I don't want to be a PITA. And I'm glad you found a doula. Really I am.
