Martin is 3!!!

Martin is 3! It is hard to believe I have a child who is 3! Where is the time flying?

This birthday was a lot more fun than previous celebrations. Martin really got this "I'm almost 3" and "my special 3 year old birthday is coming." This became really apparent to him when we explained that (1) Mema Rose and Pepa Bob were coming for his 3 year old birthday and (2) that the day before his 3 year old birthday, we would go ride the "Hood River Railroad." Anything that is bench marked by a train is far more likely to be understood.

On the caboose of the (stationary) Mount Hood Railroad

Checking out the 'trucks' on the train. Too cool.

So, he knew his birthday was coming. He knew he got to have a special cake. Somewhere along the line we explained that because it was his 3 year old birthday, he got 3 candles on a special cake. I even think he got the whole people give the birthday boy presents because sometimes he still asks us who gave him the present with which he is playing.

Martin is a fun three year old. He is still a Papa's boy, but is starting to become much more independent. He is VERY talkative, particularly when discussing trains. He still complains (particularly on Mondays) about going to school but likes it once he is there. He has just recently started singing a lot but becomes very offended if I don't know the words to the unfamiliar german translated waldorf songs!

That child is so stinkin cute! He's like magazine cute! I am beyond envious of his hair, poor Connor got his dad's hair. 3 years old is my favorite so far. Lauren turned 3 in August and is beyond fun. If I could freeze her so she'd stay right at this stage in life I totally would! Happy Birthday Martin!

I am so excited for him, he is so special, I hope my kids are somewhat like him, he makes me laugh, and makes the whole world seem great. Love you little man, and happy birthday.
