I can't believe Little A is a month old today! Time is flying. We spent the first week grading, the second week being a cute little family, the third week with my mom visiting (thanks mom... it was a great help to have you here) and this fourth week was me on my own during the weekdays. Despite a rough start on Monday morning where M's bike was in the trunk of the car at the shop making it impossible to walk to the library, we made it. And now his other grandparents arrive for 10 days. Yea!
A is very cute. He is growing bigger. I had to put away the newborn sized footed onesies this week because he is too long for them now; I was just happy he made it more than the 2 weeks that M lasted in that size. Anyways, our biggest challenge has been dealing with too much milk and I think we are finally getting there. Lots of milk can make for bigger babies, but it also makes for hurting tummies. It also seems that tomato sauce is a no go. Oh well.
We seem to have finally turned a corner on the night vs day mix up around here. Two nights ago was the first night we didn't have a 90 minute party at 3ish in the morning - we made it all the way to 5! It will always amaze me how much sleep a newborn needs and yet the rest of the family can feel so tired! It might have something to do with an absolute certainty that he MUST be on mama's chest after that 90 minute party. Mema Rose sent a blanket for swaddling for Easter; it really is a great contraption and working well in the early evening.
A HATES having his diaper removed or clothes put on. But in the middle, he seems pretty content to kick his legs and look at the pretty assortment of diaper covers hanging above his changing table. (Makes me want to make him a great mobile or something.) He doesn't like baths but likes showers. He is thinking about smiling but really isn't doing it consistently yet. He likes being in a pouch or sling as long as we are out and about in the yard or city; he is just ok with it at home. I guess he is just super curious already.
