My First Report...

Howdy Folks,
Well, I managed to arrive in San Sebastian. Lots of travel very little
sleep. Let me recap:

Nearly missed my flight our of Columbus. I am normally super paranoid about
checking my flight times over and over again. This time, however, I was
lazy and only checked a couple of times without looking closely. Anyway,
4:14 as opposed to 4:40...let's just say they were a bit annoyed with
me...oh well...the airlines can be annoying as well.

Okay, I then flew to Chicago and boared a red eye for Paris.
Arrived in Paris at 9:35am Paris time and then spent a few hours navigating
and getting my train plans squared away. Word to the wise, only wait in one
line at the train station...they can take care of everything that you need
usually.

Took the train into Paris...stopping at Gare Du Nord and then a metro to
Gare Du Montparnasse. A couple of Parisians were extremely helpful along
the way...the French can be very nice, seriously.

Out of Gare Du Montparnasse I took a high speed train to the town of Irun
along the border fo France and Spain. I had a nice French gentleman to talk
to along the way, he got off the train in Dax France about 1 hour South of
Bordeaux and 1 hour North of Biarritz. Anyway, from Irun it was 15 minutes
by train to San Sebastian.

I arrived in San Sebastian at about 10:30pm local time and had no time to
waste. I was given directions to a bar where I was instructed to ask the
bartender to give me the keys to my apartment. I found the bar, received my
keys, and then promptly had to walk another 20 minutes to my
apartment...let's just say I was exhausted...and I slept for the next 10 or
11 hours.

Sunday I wandered San Sebastian. I walked just about the entire city and
also fell asleep on a bench at the beach...it was peaceful and I was still
tired. I also met one of my roomates, Thomas from Germany...very nice guy,
pretty funny as well. He's been here two weeks.

Anyway, after many hours of wandering and a phone call to Nicole I then went
back to the aprtment where I met two new roomates. Two girls (in their 30s,
perhaps women more appropriate) from Sweden, very nice and we then went to a
local Cafe for dinner. Vey good and very inexpensive 24 euros total.

Okay, finally today I had my first classes they went well. I need to go now
though because I need to eat something and go surfing...hooray. I will post
again soon...I hope that recap was decent. More to come as things progress.

Justin

I think this posting recap turned out great! I even learned some things from it that you didn't mention in your email. So, keep doing it for all of us!

I love hearing about what you are doing Justin! My life isn't the most exciting seeing as it is restricted to my bed, but I like to see what you're up to---especially since it sounds so delightful. I would love to visit that area. See you later. Keep us posted.
Nicole's right, your recap was great!
