Pictures of Paris

For Justin's 30th birthday (Sept 11 2004), I surprised him and took him to Paris for the weekend! (Like you need a reason to go to this wonderful city). It was Justin's first time. I had been there as a child (Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Stewart) and it was as wonderful as I remembered it.

During our 4 day stay, we saw the Arc de Triomphe, Tour Eiffel, and Notre Dame and went to 4 museums: Musee du Louvre, Musee National Picasso, Musee d' Orsay, and Marmottan Monet. We could go back and spend another 4 days in art museums alone. Of course, lots of great food and lots of walking. We can't wait to go back!

Here are some pictures of Justin and Nicole in Paris. (Of course, we forgot to get any of us together! Although, with our record, we are really lucky to have any pictures at all.)

We stayed off of Avenue Kleber between the Arc de Triomphe and the Tour Eiffel in a very cute European hotel(Metro stop Boissiere). It was a steal. We packaged it through travelocity with our airfare, but I was very careful to choose a hotel that was more European rather than a U.S. chain. It meant I was taking a chance at having a box of a room, but I felt it was worth it for the charm factor. Turned out that the rooms were spacious (for Europe), the staff very friendly and the front desk fluent in English.

Also, notice our red luggage... we LOVE our red luggage! It has 4 360-degree wheels which allows you to easily roll it around while standing firmly straight up.

Tour Eiffel from our hotel door! What a fun sight as you come and go! Note the cute fruit/food stand next door as well. Posted by Hello

The inside courtyard from our room at the Hotel Elysee Union... It was taken from one of two sets of thin tall windows (the ones you love Mom). So Paris! Posted by Hello
