A is 4 Months

What happened to month 3?  Hmmm.

Well, A is 4 months and a week old.  I thought he was really growing - he all of a sudden seemed bigger about 2 weeks ago - but he is apparently turning into a little peanut - 25" and just 13lbs 4oz at his appointment this week.  They say that is a mere 7.5% on weight; luckily I have the best ped in the world who seems hardly phased at all.  So he is firmly 3-6 month old clothes due to length (especially with cloth diapers on) but they generally swim on him.

His development, however, is growing in leaps and bounds.  He has turned himself over a few times awake and asleep and in the past few days seems to be doing it on purpose.  His little legs are always moving, kicking rapidly when he is delighted by watching his brother, the dog, or seeing the illustrations on the next page of a book.  A is constantly chatting.  The final other big first for the month was going swimming 3 different times.  He really seems to like it.

A is becoming much more distractable when nursing.  Hearing his Papa enter the room and talk is almost certain to warrant a look.  Other than the occasional taste of avocado, we are holding off on the solids; he seems more interested in the plate than the food, so I think we have a month or two until we start tasting different foods.  BUT we are working consistently on a sippy bottle at least once a day.  A goes back to school with M for 2 long days a week in about 8 weeks and refuses nipples other than my own; the sippy seems to be a slow, messy go but workable.

On more frustrating notes, we've been fighting a yeast rash for 2 weeks; hopefully a prescription antifungal will help us kick it once and for all.  His rolling efforts also made it frustrating and possibly dangerous to swaddle him; removing the swaddle has utterly wrecked his sleep both during the day and night.  Hopefully that will resolve itself.

A looks an awful lot like his brother now that his hair has turned blond.  I've been terrible about pictures this past month and had a hard time getting one yesterday because he is constantly moving.  But he is as cute as ever.
