King of the Beach

Last Saturday, we woke up with a beautiful day and, for the first time in months, nothing that HAD to be done THAT DAY. So we went to the beautiful Oregon Coast. How lucky we are to have it so close that we can make the decision to go over breakfast and be there for lunch and home for dinner!

It was the first time Martin had been to the beach old enough to sit on the sand. And he throughly enjoyed it. Highlights included watching the puppy dogs.

He enjoyed watching the surf and surfers, although eventually he was a little alarmed at the rising tide.

He enjoyed digging holes with his papa.

But mostly, he just enjoyed playing in the sand.

Eventually this led to eating handfuls of sand (or just straight from the ground). YMmmmm. How could he resist?

Papa "didn't see that coming." (Really? You didn't think he'd try to eat the sand? He tries to eat everything! You can't put him on a beach without him eating sand!)

We ended the day by walking out to a point where there were seagulls galore.

We even managed a family picture to end the perfect day.

Justin, I can remember when Nicole was Martin's age, we spent alot of time at the lake and playing in the sand. Nicole ate so much that her diapers would have sand in them the next day, but then she liked Gretchen's dog food too. Cut pictures
